Andrews Coatings have completed extensive work for Crown and Magistrates courts across the country.
Crown and Magistrates Courts
We have carried out projects for many Crown and Magistrates courts in the UK where solvent free wall and flooring systems have been applied. These are used on holding cells and also interview rooms; resulting in hygienic and easily cleanable surfaces. These courts include:
Ealing, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Coventry, Margate, Cheshunt, Stevenage, Brentford, Wells Street, Guildford, Oxford, Basildon, Balham, Chelmsford, Peterborough, Canterbury, Hove, Lewis, Maidstone. St. Albans, Harrow, Luton, Reading, Sutton, South Western, Camberwell Green, Enfield, Brent, Barking. Feltham, Greenwich, Highbury, Woolwich, Shrewsbury Crown, Oswestry, Market Drayton. Worcester Combined, Leicester, Grantham, Hereford, Gainsborough, Kingston.
Primarily, the 5500 Anti Graffiti System has been used. It is an extremely tough and durable, solvent free epoxy paint for floors as well as walls. It is a very popular paint for custody suite areas. These are susceptible to graffiti, grease, dirt, food, immersion and also general abuse. The paint withstands daily cleaning as well as scrubbing with water or solvents. It is available in a range of colours and can also be used for masonry, concrete, steel and other substrates.
The paint is entirely solvent free and it has no noticeable smell. It has a Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame certificate to BS 476 part 7 1987. Use the standard application, and it can be completed within two days.
Our work has been carried out over weekends and out of hours. This avoids disruption to the court’s day to day activities.
Barking Magistrates Court
Pegagraff Hydro is a Permanent Coating, suitable for surfaces which are frequently being defaced or otherwise coated in graffiti. The two pack water based product is mixed and then applied by brush, roller or spray to provide a colourless satin finish for the protection of a range of substrates. The coating is water vapour permeable, and also solvent resistant making it simple to use solvents to remove the graffiti. We have also recently carried out work for Barking Magistrates Court. This involved the removal of graffiti from all exposed surfaces on the front of the building as well as in the main entrance hall. This was followed by an application of Pegagraff Hydro, which is used to to protect the building from future graffiti.
Working with the courts
All of the work that we do is done at the convenience of the customer. There are obvious issues to painting the holding areas while they are in use. Recognising this, we ensure the work is done quickly and also at a time convenient to the court. We remain flexible to suit the needs of our customers.
