watco-concrex-flex
Watco Concrex Flex

Watco Concrex Flex is an epoxy concrete repair mortar for floors exposed to vibration, movement and repeated impact. Its modified resin blend gives a degree of flexibility, helping repairs resist cracking where a rigid mortar may struggle. Use it around ramps, guide rail surrounds and damaged floor joint edges in busy working areas.

The mid-grey mortar is suitable for internal and external repairs to concrete, sand and cement, and metal. It provides a hard-wearing, non-dusting finish that can be left exposed or painted once cured. This is a useful option when choosing a floor repair compound for an area where movement matters as much as surface strength.

Surface Preparation

Remove loose material, dust, oil and grease, leaving a clean, sound and dry surface. Wire brushing and sweeping are usually sufficient for loose debris; use a suitable degreaser where needed.

Rough patch repairs do not normally need priming. Watco Tack Coat is recommended for thin screeds over smooth surfaces, non-porous or metal substrates, and intricate or high-impact details. Damp surfaces must be primed with Tack Coat; do not apply the mortar to a wet substrate.

Technical Data

Pack size: 10kg; colour: mid-grey.

Composition: finely graded sand pre-blended with epoxy resin, with separate curing agent.

Coverage: approximately 1.2m² per pack at 5mm thick.

Hole filling: normally 5–50mm thick.

Screeding: maximum 15mm thick.

Working life: approximately 30 minutes.

Typical curing time: 3–6 hours, depending on temperature.

Shelf life: 12 months unopened; store at 10–30°C and protect from freezing.

Directions for Use

Tip the resin and sand blend onto a mixing board or into a suitable tray. Shake the curing agent, add it to the blend and work thoroughly with a trowel until the mortar has an even colour and consistency. Wear suitable protective gloves and follow the pack instructions.

Compact firmly into the repair and finish with a steel float. Wipe the blade with a cloth dampened with white spirit to reduce drag. Feather the perimeter only where most of the repair remains at least 5mm thick. For deeper repairs, apply separate layers, allowing 6–8 hours between them.

Limitations

Low temperatures extend curing; at 10°C and below, hardening can become very slow or stop. Plan application in warmer conditions. The 50mm depth applies to holes, not broad screeds. Coverage reduces as depth increases. Remove food products from the area during application and curing, and consult the data sheets before use.

Product FAQs

Where should I use Concrex Flex?
Use it for floor repairs exposed to movement, vibration or impact, including ramps, guide rail surrounds and damaged floor joint edges.

Does it need a primer?
Rough patch repairs usually need none. Use Tack Coat on damp, smooth, non-porous or metal surfaces, for thin screeds and for intricate or high-impact repairs.

How deep can I apply it?
Apply 5–50mm for hole filling, with a maximum of 15mm for screeding. Deeper repairs need separate layers; feather only the perimeter where the main repair is at least 5mm thick.

How much will one pack cover?
A 10kg pack covers approximately 1.2m² at 5mm thick. Actual consumption depends on depth and the shape of the damage.

Data Sheets

Technical Data Sheet

Safety Data Sheet - Curing Agent (GB)

Safety Data Sheet - Resin (GB)

Safety Data Sheet - Curing Agent (GBNI)

Safety Data Sheet - Resin (GBNI)
