We frequently work with many building contractors who encounter asbestos roofs. We have a fully certified system which encapsulates the Asbestos. By encapsulating the asbestos this helps save money from having to safely remove and rebuild a new roof.
Asbestos was a common material used in building materials due to its many diverse properties. The material was used in bricks, pipes, fireplaces cement and many other products. Production in these materials was increasingly popular in the late 19th century and it wasn’t until the early 1900’s that it was cited that there had been deaths due to Asbestos fibers found in the lungs. Although health risks had been linked- it wasn’t until the 70’s in which the Asbestos industry saw a decline due to seeing links between Asbestos exposure and lung diseases.
Asbestos saw a partial ban in 2003 and by 2005 was officially banned throughout the European union. Although the use of Asbestos has now been banned, many buildings that were made before the ban still have Asbestos. The kit has been made to provide a certified system that encapsulates Asbestos fibres on weathered Asbestos cement.
The Asbestos Encapsulation kit is a system designed to embed the asbestos fibers and prevent them from being released. Our system involves just 3 main products that prove to be a fully certified system. Please see below our photos of a project we help specify in 2020.
As you can see from the images above that the roof now looks brand new due to the fresh paint coatings. We work with specialist coatings contractors who have been fully trained in using these products. To learn more about the Asbestos Encapsulating Kit please click here or call us on 01902 710057.
