AndCoat HB 'Low Temp' Solvent Free Epoxy
Litres required: 0.00L
Based on 4.0 m² per litre- Independent UK Manufacturing
AndCoat HB LT is a solvent-free, high-build two-pack epoxy coating formulated for use in colder conditions. Designed to cure at lower temperatures, it provides the same outstanding durability, adhesion and chemical resistance as standard AndCoat HB, but with extended working times that make it suitable for winter application.
This coating delivers a smooth, gloss finish with exceptional resistance to water, oils, fuels and many chemicals. It is ideal for use on concrete floors, steelwork, bunds, tank linings and other industrial surfaces where both high performance and cold-weather application are required.
Surface Preparation
For best results, substrates must be sound, clean and free from contaminants:
- Concrete & Masonry: Minimum 28 days cure, dry and structurally sound. Remove laitance, dust, oil, grease and other contaminants by vacuum blasting or grinding. Repair surface defects before application.
- Steel: Blast clean to SA 2½ (ISO 8501-1) or equivalent, producing a sharp profile. Coat immediately after preparation to avoid flash rusting. If blasting is not possible, mechanically prepare to St3 standard.
- Previously Coated Surfaces: Remove any unsound coatings. Abrade sound coatings to provide a key.
- All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from moisture before application.

Primers & Substrate Preparation
A primer is not typically required for AndCoat HB on sound, non-porous substrates. However, in certain conditions, the correct primer should be used to ensure optimal performance and finish.
- AndPrime– Recommended for porous concrete substrates to improve adhesion and prevent pin-holing, helping achieve a smooth, uniform coating.
- AndCoat DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) – Required where moisture levels are high (above 75% RH) to control moisture and protect the coating system from failure.
Using the appropriate primer ensures maximum adhesion, reduces surface defects, and supports long-term durability of the coating system.
