Bollom Intulac Ultra Basecoat
- Protect your surfaces from fire & smoke
- Structural strength solutions
Bollom Intulac™ Ultra Base Coat is a clear intumescent coating designed to provide fire protection to interior timber while maintaining the natural appearance of the substrate.
Part of a complete system with Intulac™ Ultra Top Coat, this product helps achieve a Class 0 fire rating, making it ideal for projects where both fire performance and aesthetics are important.
In the event of a fire, the coating reacts to heat by expanding to form an insulating char layer. This slows ignition, reduces flame spread and limits heat release, helping to protect timber surfaces and provide valuable escape time.
Suitable for use on a wide range of timber substrates including hardwood, softwood and wood-based boards, Intulac Ultra is commonly specified for commercial interiors, public buildings and decorative wood finishes.
✔️ Clear intumescent coating – preserves natural wood finish
✔️ Achieves Class 0 fire rating (system)
✔️ Suitable for a wide range of timber substrates
✔️ Reduces flame spread and heat release
✔️ Ideal for decorative and architectural woodwork
Important System Information
This product must be used as part of a complete system:
Intulac Ultra Base Coat (2 coats) + Intulac Ultra Top Coat (1 coat)
Failure to apply the correct system will result in no fire rating being achieved.
Surface Preparation
- Ensure timber is clean, dry and free from grease, wax and contaminants
- Moisture content of wood should be below 15%
- Lightly abrade smooth or difficult surfaces to improve adhesion
- For resinous or knotty timber, apply a suitable knotting solution/sealer
- Can be applied over existing varnish (max 1 coat), provided it is sound and well adhered
- Light sanding is recommended before application
Proper preparation is essential for adhesion and fire performance
