Thermoguard Thermocoat S is a solvent-based intumescent paint system designed to protect structural steel and cast iron in exterior or exposed environments. It provides up to 90 minutes of fire resistance, forming a heat-activated insulating char that slows steel temperature rise in a fire.
Suitable for hollow sections and bracing, Thermocoat S is ideal for projects where durability and certified fire protection are essential. Use with a compatible decorative topcoat in BS 4800 or RAL colours to match your building’s design.
Fire tested to BS 476 Part 21 and backed by UKAS/EGOLF certification, Thermocoat S is approved for insurance, building control and client records.

Ensure all steel is clean, dry and free from rust and millscale

Prime with Thermoguard Steel Fire Paint Primer to 75 microns DFT

For galvanised steel, pre-treat with T Wash/Mordant Solution and prime with a suitable anti-corrosive primer

Always follow manufacturer guidance for compatible primers
