Rust‑Oleum EpoxyShield® Garage Floor Coating – Complete 2‑Pack Water‑Based Epoxy Kit

Give your garage floor pro‑grade performance with Rust‑Oleum’s EpoxyShield® two‑pack water‑based epoxy kit, engineered for ultimate adhesion, durability, and ease of use. Designed to coat concrete floors, this satin finish system resists foot traffic, vehicle movement, impact, abrasion, and harsh chemicals like gasoline, motor oil, antifreeze, hot tire pick‑up and salt.

Features & Benefits:

  • True two‑component mixing (Base : Activator = 3:1 by volume) for superior toughness.
  • Water‑based formula with 63.6% solids for lasting film and minimal odor
  • Excellent wear resistance under heavy foot and vehicle traffic
  • Chemical and stain resistant, perfect for oil‑, fuel‑ or grease‑exposed surfaces
  • Satin finish provides a clean, professional look without being super slippery
  • Fast but flexible curing: touch dry in ~16 hours, ready for vehicle traffic in 7 days
  • Covers approx. 25 m² on smooth, bare concrete (lower yield on rough/porous surfaces)

Surface Preparation

Remove any oil or grease spots on the floor. Use a scrub brush and a cleaner/degreaser or
use a solvent such as mineral spirits. Scrub the spot thoroughly and wipe up excess
cleaner with rags or paper towels to keep contaminants from spreading. Rinse thoroughly
with fresh water. Repeat as necessary to completely clean. Mix all concentrated cleaner
from the kit with approximately 7½-litre water. Mix until dissolved (the cleaning solution
contains citric acid). Pre-wet the floor using a hose. Remove pooled water with a squeegee
or broom to avoid leaving puddles. Spread the cleaner mixture over a 3x3-m² section of the floor using a watering can. Scrub vigorously with a stiff bristle brush to loosen dust and dirt.

While working, keep the entire section wet until the entire section has been cleaned and
rinsed. Rinse each section thoroughly before starting the next section. For best results, use
a foam squeegee to remove the rinse water from the surface and to move dirt and
contaminants out of the garage. Once all sections are completed, rinse and squeegee the
entire garage floor to remove any cleaner that has been tracked on previously cleaned
areas. A wet/dry vacuum cleaner can also be used to eliminate excess water, dirt and
contaminants. Do not leave pooled water on the floor. The cleaner will not discolour
driveways or harm grass or plants if rinsed thoroughly. Allow the floor to dry completely.
Wipe your fingers over the clean, dry floor. If you see any dust or powder on your fingers,
repeat the rinsing and scrubbing until the floor is clean.

Directions For Use

Do not mix Paint Chips with Epoxyshield®. Pour the contents of A into B and stir thoroughly for at least 3 minutes. Allow mixed product to stand (see table) before rolling the coating on to the surface. Do not leave container in direct sunlight. Mix again before applying. The product must be used within 1 to 2 hours of initial mixing (pot life, see table). This time decreases at higher temperatures.

Apply when air (ambient) temperature is 15-35ºC and relative humidity is below 80%.
Concrete floors take a long time to warm up; make sure the previous day has also been at
least 15ºC prior to painting. Minimum floor temperature for painting is 13ºC. Painting in
mid-afternoon ensures the best cure.

After the full 60 minutes use a paint roller (20 cm) to apply an even coat of Epoxyshield®
onto the surface. Apply in sections of 1,5 x 1,5 m so that paint chips can easily be
scattered on the freshly coated surface. Maintain a wet edge to prevent lap marks and
gloss differences. Sprinkle the decorative paint chips onto the wet film (note: this step may
be skipped if chips are not desired. This will not affect the performance of the coating).
Immediately continue to coat the next section (note: fresh paint can be applied over the
loose chips that lay outside the previously painted area). This product must be used within
3 hours of initial mixing (pot life).

International Delivery

We are pleased to offer worldwide delivery on both parcel and pallet orders.

Parcel Shipments

All international parcel deliveries are handled by FedEx International. Shipping times and costs vary depending on destination, parcel size, and service availability.

Pallet Shipments (Including Dangerous Goods)

For palletised orders — including those containing dangerous goods - we work with independent specialist freight companies experienced in compliant global hazardous materials transport.
Due to the nature of these shipments, pricing and transit times are provided on a case‑by‑case basis.

Requesting an International Delivery Quote

If you would like to place an international order, simply get in touch and we will prepare a personalised shipping quote. Please provide the following details:

  • Your full name

Once we have this information, we’ll handle the rest - from calculating the most suitable shipping method to arranging safe and compliant delivery to your destination.

🛠️ Specialist Products & Pallet Deliveries

Some coatings are made to order, particularly from premium brands like Sigma/PPG. These orders:

  • May have longer lead times

  • May carry a £150 + VAT delivery charge

  • Could require pallet delivery — a separate charge may apply

If your order requires palletisation, we’ll contact you after checkout to confirm delivery costs. You're also welcome to contact us first for a delivery quote before placing the order.

📦 Stock & Availability

We hold a large amount of stock ready for immediate dispatch, but:

  • Some products may need to be ordered in from manufacturers

  • Specialist items may be tinted or made to order, causing additional lead time

  • We’ll always aim to part-deliver where possible to avoid unnecessary delays

If you’re on a strict deadline, please get in touch before ordering so we can advise on delivery timeframes.

🚫 Delivery Liability

While we work hard to ensure your order arrives safely and on time, we use third-party carriers and cannot be held liable for:

  • Delays in transit

  • Lost shipments

  • Goods damaged in delivery

If your order is damaged or delayed, please let us know as soon as possible. We are not always informed automatically by the courier, so your input is essential.

We will work with you to resolve any issues — whether that means replacing items or chasing the carrier.

Note: Address changes after dispatch may incur additional charges, so please double-check your delivery details at checkout.

You will receive email updates at each stage of the process:

Depending on UK stock, our standard delivery is 1–3 working days for UK mainland addresses. Orders placed before 1pm typically ship same day. If stock is low or delayed, one of our advisors will be in touch.
For larger or palletised orders, allow up to 5 working days.

We strongly recommend confirming your colour choice before ordering.

If your item is damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours with photos of the damage and your order number.
We’ll arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate - no hassle.

🧽 5. Do I need to prime before painting?

It depends on the surface and product. Many of our coatings are direct-to-surface but some materials (like new concrete or bare metal) may need a primer.

It will also depend on the surface condition and if you're painting over an existing coating or going direct to surface. Check the Technical Data Sheet (TDS) on each product page, or contact our technical team for advice @ info@andrewscoatings.co.uk or call us on 01902 429190.

💳 6. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • All major credit/debit cards

  • PayPal

  • Klarna (Buy Now, Pay Later)

  • Google Pay / Apple Pay

🖌️ 7. How do I know which product is right for my project?

We’ve carefully categorised our products so you can easily find the right coating based on surface type, project use, or area of application - like floors, metal, kitchens, or outdoors.

Some products do cross over between categories (for example, a floor paint that also works on metal) but rest assured - we’ve placed them where they’re most commonly used.

Still unsure? Just drop us a message - we’re happy to help you choose the best fit for your specific project.

🌍 8. Do you ship internationally?

Yes we can ship anywhere in the world. For international trade or wholesale orders, please contact: info@andrewscoatings.co.uk

🧾 9. Can I request a VAT invoice?

Yes - VAT invoices are included automatically in your order confirmation email. If you need a re-send, just let us know.
