Blackfriar Acid Etch – Concrete & Screed Floor Preparation Solution
Blackfriar Acid Etch is a preparation solution designed for concrete and screed floors prior to sealing, coating, or painting. It effectively removes excess lime dust (laitance) that can prevent proper adhesion, ensuring a secure and long-lasting finish for floor coatings.

Surface Preparation
Sweep the area to remove debris. Excess dirt, oil or grease should be scraped off or removed. Blackfriar Professional Degreaser & Cleaner may be necessary.
Technical Data
• Hydrochloric acid solution.
• Etches power floated, very smooth, hard or chemically treated concrete floors to ‘key’ the
surface and improve the adhesion of floor coatings.
• Apply with stiff brush, squeegee mop or watering can.
• Indoor use.
Directions for Use
Apply liberally by brush, mop, broom or squeegee. Leave for 2-3 minutes. Repeat until no further effervescence. Rinse floor with copious amounts of clean water, remove excess and allow to dry. Hot air fans may be required particularly in cold weather.
