Rust-Oleum 5090 Anti-Condensation Coating – Hygienic Moisture Control for Damp Areas

Rust-Oleum 5090 Anti-Condensation is a water-based, single-pack hygienic topcoat that helps prevent condensation and dripping caused by discontinuous steam or water vapour. Ideal for kitchens, breweries, washrooms, and shower rooms, it actively absorbs moisture—with just 1 litre able to hold at least 400 grams of water after drying. Quick-drying and suitable for slightly damp surfaces, it’s the smart solution for maintaining clean, dry, and safe interior spaces.

Surface Preparation

New concrete or brick surfaces should cure and dry for at least 30 days prior to application
of the coating. Repair surface defects of (coated) concrete or brick surfaces. Remove grease, oil and all other surface contaminations by alkaline or high pressure (steam) cleaning. Scrape and wire brush carefully to remove deteriorated coatings. Sand previous coatings which are in good condition to remove gloss and to roughen the surface slightly. The surface may be slightly damp during application.

Directions for Use

To ensure homogeneity, coating materials should be thoroughly stirred prior to use.

Temperature of air, substrate and coating material between 5 and 35°C and relative
humidity below 85%. The substrate temperature must be at least 5°C above dew point.
