Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free from any rust, oils, wax or any other surface contamination. Remove any loose or flaking paint back to a firm edge, abrade any existing coating to provide a key. Rusty metals should be wire-brushed to a clean bright surface and primed immediately with Blackfriar Anti-Rust Primer. Galvanized metal should be degreased and primed with Blackfriar Multi-Surface Primer. New and bare surfaces should be primed with an appropriate primer such as Blackfriar Multi-Surface Primer.
