Zinsser B-I-N® is the ultimate high-performance primer, sealer and stain killer. Its shellac-based formula blocks even the most severe stains and odours, while delivering unbeatable adhesion to any surface - including glossy paints, ceramic tiles, glass and metal — without the need for sanding.
Ideal for interior use and exterior spot priming, B-I-N dries in just 15 minutes and can be recoated in under an hour. It seals in water stains, smoke damage, tannin bleed, graffiti, grease, knots, pet odours and more - making it perfect for restoration, fire damage, or general renovation.
B-I-N creates a tough, sealed base that prevents peeling, flashing or bleed-through, while holding enamel topcoats beautifully. Available in white and grey, it can also be tinted for improved hide under dark colours.
Surface Preparation

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and sound

Remove grease, wax, chalk, mildew or wallpaper residue

For glossy surfaces, sanding is not required

Rusty metal: remove loose rust and prime with a rust-inhibitive primer

For mould/mildew: use a bleach solution or biocidal cleaner, rinse thoroughly

For fire or odour damage, clean with denatured alcohol before priming

Directions for Use

Shake or stir well before use

Apply using brush, roller or sprayer - no thinning required

One coat is usually sufficient; apply a second coat for severe stains or porous surfaces

Dry time: touch dry in 15 minutes, recoat after 45 minutes

For odour sealing (e.g. pet urine, smoke), prime the entire surface area

Clean tools with denatured alcohol or a 3:1 water / ammonia solution immediately after use
