  • Protect your surfaces from fire & smoke
  • Structural strength solutions

Brosteel Ultra 60 is a high-performance, water-based intumescent coating designed to provide up to 60 minutes fire protection to structural steel in internal environments.

In the event of a fire, the coating reacts to heat by expanding into a thick, insulating carbon char layer. This slows the rise in steel temperature, helping maintain structural integrity and providing valuable time for evacuation and fire control.

  • 30 minutes fire protection can typically be achieved in one coat, with 60 minutes achieved in two coats depending on specification
  • Fully tested to BS476 Part 21 fire standards
  • Suitable for C1 and C2 internal environments

Ideal for use on beams, columns and general structural steelwork, Brosteel Ultra 60 offers a reliable and cost-effective fire protection system for commercial, industrial and public sector projects.

Designed with the applicator in mind, it is easy to apply by brush, roller or airless spray, with relatively fast drying times to keep projects moving.

✔️ Up to 60 minutes fire protection
✔️ Water-based, low VOC formulation
✔️ Suitable for internal structural steel
✔️ Easy application by brush, roller or spray
✔️ Expands under heat to protect steelwork

Surface Preparation

  • Steel must be clean, dry and free from contamination
  • All steel surfaces must be primed with a compatible anti-corrosion primer
  • Primer dry film thickness should not exceed 100 microns
  • Do not use thermoplastic, bitumen or chlorinated rubber primers
  • Galvanised steel should be treated with T-wash or mordant solution and primed accordingly
  • If using zinc-rich primers, apply a suitable tie coat before application

Proper preparation is essential to ensure adhesion and system performance.
