Brosteel Ultra 60 is a high-performance, water-based intumescent coating designed to provide up to 60 minutes fire protection to structural steel in internal environments.
In the event of a fire, the coating reacts to heat by expanding into a thick, insulating carbon char layer. This slows the rise in steel temperature, helping maintain structural integrity and providing valuable time for evacuation and fire control.
- 30 minutes fire protection can typically be achieved in one coat, with 60 minutes achieved in two coats depending on specification
- Fully tested to BS476 Part 21 fire standards
- Suitable for C1 and C2 internal environments
Ideal for use on beams, columns and general structural steelwork, Brosteel Ultra 60 offers a reliable and cost-effective fire protection system for commercial, industrial and public sector projects.
Designed with the applicator in mind, it is easy to apply by brush, roller or airless spray, with relatively fast drying times to keep projects moving.

Surface Preparation
- Steel must be clean, dry and free from contamination
- All steel surfaces must be primed with a compatible anti-corrosion primer
- Primer dry film thickness should not exceed 100 microns
- Do not use thermoplastic, bitumen or chlorinated rubber primers
- Galvanised steel should be treated with T-wash or mordant solution and primed accordingly
- If using zinc-rich primers, apply a suitable tie coat before application
Proper preparation is essential to ensure adhesion and system performance.

Directions for Use
- Thoroughly stir the product before use.
- Ensure steel has been correctly primed and is fully dry.
- Apply using brush, roller or airless spray depending on project requirements.
- Build up the required film thickness in multiple coats as specified.
- Monitor application using a wet film thickness gauge.
- Allow sufficient drying time between coats (typically 2–6 hours depending on thickness and conditions).
- Final drying time before topcoat application is a minimum of 16 hours.
- Once required thickness is achieved, apply a compatible topcoat if required for decoration or protection.
Application conditions:
- Temperature must be above 5°C
- Relative humidity below 80%
- Steel temperature minimum 3°C above dew point

Parcel Shipments
All international parcel deliveries are handled by FedEx International. Shipping times and costs vary depending on destination, parcel size, and service availability.
Pallet Shipments (Including Dangerous Goods)
For palletised orders — including those containing dangerous goods - we work with independent specialist freight companies experienced in compliant global hazardous materials transport.
Due to the nature of these shipments, pricing and transit times are provided on a case‑by‑case basis.
Requesting an International Delivery Quote
If you would like to place an international order, simply get in touch and we will prepare a personalised shipping quote. Please provide the following details:
- Your full name
- Delivery address (including country and any required customs information)
- Details of the items you would like to order
- Quantities for each item
Once we have this information, we’ll handle the rest - from calculating the most suitable shipping method to arranging safe and compliant delivery to your destination.
🛠️ Specialist Products & Pallet Deliveries
Some coatings are made to order, particularly from premium brands like Sigma/PPG. These orders:
