Andrews High Build Metal Primer is a fast-drying, high-build anti-corrosive primer designed to protect steel surfaces in industrial and maintenance environments.
This primer provides excellent corrosion resistance under atmospheric conditions, making it ideal for structural steel, fabricated components and general metalwork. Its high-build properties allow for strong coverage and film thickness in fewer coats, helping to speed up application and reduce labour time.
Designed for flexibility on site, it can be overcoated with a wide range of one-pack and two-pack topcoats, making it suitable for both quick maintenance jobs and full coating systems.

Surface Preparation
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease, oil and contaminants
- Steel should ideally be blast cleaned to Sa2½ standard
- Alternatively, mechanically prepare to a minimum of St2 standard
- Previously coated or shop-primed steel should be cleaned and abraded
- Remove all loose rust, mill scale and failing coatings before application
Proper preparation is essential to achieve maximum adhesion and corrosion protection.

Directions for Use

Stir thoroughly before use.

Ensure surface preparation is completed to the required standard.

Apply by brush, roller or spray depending on project requirements.

Apply evenly to achieve recommended film thickness.

Allow approximately 15 minutes to become touch dry.

Overcoat after a minimum of 45 minutes, depending on temperature.

Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.
Do not apply below 5°C or when condensation is present.

Parcel Shipments
All international parcel deliveries are handled by FedEx International. Shipping times and costs vary depending on destination, parcel size, and service availability.
Pallet Shipments (Including Dangerous Goods)
For palletised orders — including those containing dangerous goods - we work with independent specialist freight companies experienced in compliant global hazardous materials transport.
Due to the nature of these shipments, pricing and transit times are provided on a case‑by‑case basis.
Requesting an International Delivery Quote
If you would like to place an international order, simply get in touch and we will prepare a personalised shipping quote. Please provide the following details:
- Your full name
- Delivery address (including country and any required customs information)
- Details of the items you would like to order
- Quantities for each item
Once we have this information, we’ll handle the rest - from calculating the most suitable shipping method to arranging safe and compliant delivery to your destination.
🛠️ Specialist Products & Pallet Deliveries
Some coatings are made to order, particularly from premium brands like Sigma/PPG. These orders:
