Zinsser Coversup Aerosol

Zinsser CoversUp™ Aerosol is a low odour, vertical spray ceiling paint and stain blocker in one. Designed for overhead application, it delivers a flat white finish that closely matches most acoustic ceiling tiles and ceiling paints – perfect for quick touch-ups without repainting the entire ceiling.

Ideal for water stains, smoke damage, and nicotine discolouration, CoversUp seals and blocks stains permanently in just one coat. The solvent-based formula dries in only 30 minutes and can be topcoated with any solvent- or water-based paint after 2 hours. Whether used as a primer or finish coat, this product is a go-to for decorators needing a fast and effective ceiling solution.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure surface is clean, dry, sound and free from grease, dust or mildew

• Remove poorly adhered coatings and wash stained areas before application

• Countersink exposed nail heads, fill and spot-prime if needed

• Lightly sand or clean any glossy surfaces

• Remove mildew with Zinsser Mould Killer & Remover

Directions for Use

1. Shake can until mixing ball rattles, then shake for 1 minute

2. Spray 25–30cm from the ceiling using short, even strokes

3. Apply in thin ‘dusting’ layers to avoid drips and overloading

4. For deeper stains, apply a second coat after 2 hours

5. When finished, clean valve by turning can upside down and spraying until clear gas emerges

6. Not suitable for immersion, floors, or areas with prolonged water contact
