Zinsser BIN Aerosol Primer

Zinsser B-I-N® Aerosol is a high-performance, shellac-based primer, stain sealer and odour blocker in one. Formulated for interior use and exterior spot priming, it delivers superior coverage and dries in just 10 minutes, with recoat possible in 45 minutes.

Perfect for use on ceilings, walls, doors, furniture and trim, it seals knots, sap streaks and permanently blocks stubborn stains including water, smoke, grease, graffiti, ink and more. It also neutralises strong odours such as fire damage, tobacco smoke and pet urine.

This aerosol format allows for quick and precise touch-ups or small-area coverage, making it an essential tool for decorators, landlords and restoration professionals.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease, mildew, dust or flaky paint

• Wash stained areas with ammonia solution (avoid TSP-based cleaners)

• Sand glossy surfaces lightly and feather any rough edges

• Countersink exposed nails and fill holes or cracks

• For metal: wire brush rust and wipe down with alcohol before priming

• Remove mildew with Zinsser Mould Killer or bleach solution

Directions for Use

1. Shake can vigorously until mixing ball rattles, then shake for 1 more minute

2. Spray 25–30 cm from the surface in short, overlapping strokes

3. Apply in thin layers for even coverage — allow to dry between coats

4. Surface is touch dry in 10 minutes and ready to recoat in 45 minutes

5. For heavy stains, a second coat may be necessary

6. After use, turn can upside down and spray until only gas is released to clear nozzle

7. Clean drips immediately with denatured alcohol
