Blackfriar Stabilising Solution – Seals and Binds Powdery, Porous Surfaces

Blackfriar Stabilising Solution is essential for preparing powdery or porous surfaces before decoration. It binds unstable substrates such as old lime wash, distemper, and weathered masonry, providing a firm, sealed foundation for paint or wallpaper. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, it ensures lasting adhesion and a smooth decorative finish.

Application Information:

• Coverage: 12 m²/L per coat

Surface Preparation

Ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry, and free from wax, grease and oil. Remove any loose flaking materials by scraping and dry brushing. Treat any algae or mould growth with Blackfriar Anti-Mould Solution prior to applying Blackfriar Stabilising Solution.

Coverage - Up to 12m2 per litre per coat dependant on porosity of substrate.

Drying Time - Touch dry in 2 - 4 hours. Recoat after 4 hours and within 3 days. Drying times are based on an ambient temperature of 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperatures or higher humidity will prolong the drying and overcoating times.

Directions for Use

Stir thoroughly prior to use with a broad stirrer. The product may be applied by brush or roller. Apply 1 generous even coat, a second coat may be required on particularly porous or powdery surfaces.
