Zinsser PermaWhite® is a high-performance interior paint uniquely formulated to resist mould and mildew in high-humidity environments. Its durable acrylic finish is tough, scrubbable and washable, making it the go-to choice for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, finished basements and commercial facilities where moisture is a constant challenge.
Containing a surface biocide that protects against fungal degradation, PermaWhite® creates a long-lasting barrier that resists cracking, peeling and blistering for up to 7 years. The coating is self-priming, adhering securely to glossy, solvent-based and hard-to-paint surfaces without sanding.
Available in matt or satin finishes, it can be tinted to BS, RAL and NCS colours for design flexibility. With low odour, fast drying times and a Class 1 Wet Scrub rating, PermaWhite® is trusted by professionals for both domestic and commercial interiors.
Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dirt, dust, grease, wax, loose paint or contamination.

Wash with Zinsser® Universal Degreaser & Cleaner and rinse thoroughly.
-
Remove all existing mould and mildew with Zinsser Mould Killer & Remover.
-
For glossy or semi-gloss substrates, no sanding is required - PermaWhite® is self-priming.
-
Seal bare plaster with Bulls Eye® 1-2-3 before applying.
-
For damp masonry, first use WaterTite® Waterproofing Paint then apply PermaWhite® over the top.

Directions for Use

Stir well before use – apply without thinning (up to 10% water if spraying).

Apply with a brush, roller, pad or sprayer (airless: .017 tip, 2000–2600 PSI).

Ensure air and surface temperature is 10–32°C with humidity below 80%.

Apply two full coats for optimum performance.

Allow 30 minutes to dry, recoat after 2 hours.

Do not scrub the surface for 7 days to allow full cure.

For best results in showers, wait at least 24 hours before exposing to moisture.
-
Clean tools immediately with warm soapy water.
