Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free from any rust, oils, wax or any other surface contamination. Remove any loose or flaking paint back to a firm edge, abrade any existing coating to provide a key. Rusty metals should be wire-brushed to a clean bright surface and primed immediately with Blackfriar Quick Drying Anti-Rust Primer. Galvanized metal should be degreased and primed with Blackfriar Multi-Surface Primer.
New and bare surfaces should be primed with an appropriate primer such as Blackfriar Multi-Surface Primer.
