KEIM Design Fixativ

Keim Design-Fixativ is a sol-silicate based primer and thinner for KEIM Design-Lasur. Used as pre-treatment for strongly absorbing substrates and as dilution for most transparent finishes with KEIM Design-Lasur. For interior and exterior use. Especially recommended for very translucent designs and for finishes in full-tone colour shades.

With two or three Lasur coatings of KEIM Design-Lasur and KEIM Design-Fixativ highly translucent designs, especially when using full colour shades, can be achieved. The application of only one colour shade but in different dilution ratios also provides very decorative effects.

Preparation & Application 

KEIM Design-Fixativ is particularly recommended as dilution for very translucent designs and for designs with full colour shades. Keep stirring the Lasur mix well before and during work. Water or other products must not be added. The Lasur is applied cross-wise with a Lasur brush (e.g. the oval KEIM Lasur brush). It is important to work swiftly weton-wet and to keep a wet edge.

The components of the Design-Lasur-System KEIM DesignLasur, KEIM Design-Base and KEIM Design-Fixativ can be mixed together in any desired ratio. KEIM Design-Base provides an attractive transparency together with ideal application consistency and film thickness. KEIM DesignFixativ allows most translucent low-pigment finishes with brilliant colours and thin film thickness.

Application Conditions
Air and substrate temperature:>5°C up to max. 30°C. Apply only to dry surfaces and in dry weather. Do not apply under direct sun or on sun-heated substrates or in strong wind. Surfaces have to be protected after application from rain, wind and direct sun.

Drying Times
Between the individual coatings a drying time of about 24 hours is required.

Consumption
Depending on the dilution ratio and per coat: Approx. 50 ml/m² prepared mix of Design-Lasur and Design-Fixativ. The consumption value given is a guide value depending on the desired translucency effect, application method and substrate condition. Exact values may only be given by a trial application on site.

Clean tools with water immediately after use.
