KEIM Restauro Grund

Keim Restauro Grund is a mineral dry bagged premixed restoration mortar with hydraulic binders used for stone repair. The system consists of natural stone replacement materials for reproducing the colour and texture of the original stone. Keim Restauro Grund can be used to restore stone surfaces as part of the Keim Restauro Stone Restoration system. Only suitable for depth of repairs in excess of 10- 15mm.

Preparation & Application

Substrate Preparation 
Remove loose material and old coats mechanically or with a water pressure jet. All loose and friable material should be cut back to a sound level.

Application
Having cut the stone back to a sound base, KEIM Restauro Grund, mixed with clean cold water to a moist earth consistency, should be applied to the level of approximately 5mm below the finished surface. Apply to pre-wetted surfaces in one or more layers from 10mm to 50mm maximum. KEIM Restauro Grund is only suitable if the depth is in excess of 10 to 15mm. Finishing Once the base mortar has set, roughen the surface and allow at least one day to elapse before further finishing operations and application of KEIM Restauro Top.

Application Conditions
Ambient and substrate temperature above 5°C and below 30°C. Do not apply in direct sunlight or onto sun-heated surfaces, nor if it is raining or if there is an immediate likelihood of rain.

Consumption
Approximately 10kg/m² for 5mm thick repair Consumption rates are offered for guideline purposes only. Actual rates are the responsibility of the applicator. Project specifications should be referred to for specific rates.

Cleaning of Tools
Clean tools with water immediately after use.
