Zinsser Covers Stain Aerosol

Zinsser Cover Stain® Aerosol is a high-performance, solvent-based primer, sealer and stain blocker for interior and exterior surfaces. Ideal for spot priming, it sticks to glossy or hard-to-coat surfaces without sanding and dries in just 30 minutes.

Whether you're sealing nicotine, water or smoke stains indoors or blocking cedar bleed outdoors, Cover Stain Aerosol offers excellent coverage, flexibility and adhesion. It’s especially effective for priming trims, panels and exterior woodwork like fascia, soffits and shutters.

Its fast-dry formula allows you to prime, recoat and finish in a single day, making it perfect for time-sensitive jobs on new wood, previously painted surfaces or even tough stains and graffiti.

Surface Preparation

• Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from loose paint, rust, grease, mould, dust or wax

• Abrade glossy or hard surfaces where needed

• Ensure proper ventilation and avoid high humidity during application

• Not suitable for galvanised metal, floors, roofs or immersion

Directions for Use

1. Shake can vigorously for one minute after the ball rattles

2. Hold 30cm from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion

3. Apply multiple light coats a few minutes apart – do not flood

4. Overcoat after 30 minutes for exterior, 2 hours for interior jobs

5. For future use, clean nozzle by turning can upside down and spraying until only gas is released
