Thermoguard Asbestos Encapsulating Smoke & Flame Retardant Coat is a specialist sealer designed to permanently encapsulate rigid, sound asbestos in internal or sheltered locations that are concealed or not subject to mechanical damage. The coating bonds isolated or residual asbestos fibres, preventing fibre release and enhancing fire safety.
Provides certified fire resistance: BS EN Class B s1 d0 and Class O.
Surface Preparation

Ensure surfaces are dry and clean where practical.

Cleaning should be carried out using a type H vacuum or wet washing process followed by damp wiping.

Avoid disturbing asbestos fibres—refer to HSE guidelines.

Avoid using fans or blow heaters. Limit air movement during and after application.

Use suitable PPE: disposable overalls, gloves, plastic shoe covers, sealed dust masks, and goggles.

Spreading Rate:

First coat: thinned 10% with water, at 10m²/litre

Second coat: undiluted at 10m²/litre

Application Tools: Brush, roller, or low-pressure HVLP spray
Directions for Use

Thin the first coat by 10% with clean water. Apply at 10m² per litre.

Once dry, apply the second coat undiluted at 10m² per litre.

Apply evenly to form a continuous film.

For hard-to-reach areas, use a spray extension arm or roller pole.

Allow full drying between coats and avoid condensation during application.
