Zinsser Drywall Pro 2-in-1 is a primer and sealer in one, engineered to tackle problem drywall and porous surfaces before painting, wallpapering or texturing. It penetrates deeply, sealing in damaged paper, chalky builder’s paint, joint compound, filler, and wallpaper adhesive. The result is a stable, water-resistant foundation that stops bubbling, blistering, and patchiness when redecorating.
Ideal for:
-
New drywall & skim coats
 -
Damaged drywall & filler repairs
 -
Residual wallpaper adhesive
 -
Textured walls & ceilings
 -
Builder’s flat/chalky paint

Surface Preparation
-
Surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, dirt, grease, wax, mould and other contaminants.
 -
Wash with Zinsser Universal Degreaser & Cleaner where needed.
 -
Remove unsound coatings, loose wallpaper, and excessive adhesive residue (Zinsser DIF recommended).
 -
Sand smooth edges and filled areas (80–100 grit).
 -
Cut away loose drywall facing paper; reseal with Drywall Pro 2-in-1.
 -
Countersink exposed nail heads and fill.
 -
Seal heavy stains separately with a Zinsser stain-blocking primer.

Special precautions when sanding pre-1960 paints due to lead content - use protective equipment.

Directions for Use
-
Stir well before application. Do not thin.
 -
Apply liberally by brush, medium nap roller, or airless sprayer (tip 0.015”–0.019” at 2000–2500 psi).

Back-roll if sagging occurs to ensure an even finish.
 -
Properly sealed surfaces should have a uniform sheen; reapply to missed or porous areas.
 -
Apply only when substrate and air temperature are above 10°C.
 -
Clean tools with warm soapy water before product dries.
 -
For damaged drywall, cut away blistered paper, seal with Drywall Pro 2-in-1, skim coat/fill, sand smooth, then reseal before finishing.
