Thermoguard Wallcoat System is an EN Class B s1 d0 certified intumescent coating for upgrading previously painted or multi-layered walls and ceilings. Combine the Wallcoat Insulating Basecoat with the Wallcoat SFR Topcoat (Matt or Eggshell) to provide flame spread control, smoke suppression and long-lasting protection without compromising aesthetics.

Ideal for plaster, plasterboard, Artex, brick or concrete, this two-part system upgrades high-risk surfaces in domestic, commercial or public settings. Available in thousands of BS, RAL and NCS shades.

Surface Preparation

Clean and dry all surfaces
Remove grease, smoke, or silicate residue
Seal any water stains with a stain-blocking acrylic-compatible sealer
Abrade hard or glossy surfaces with 120 grit wet/dry abrasive
Rinse and let dry fully
Fill and repair surface imperfections using a suitable filler

Directions for Use

Apply 1 coat of Wallcoat Insulating Basecoat
Follow with 1 coat of SFR Topcoat (2 coats for dark colours or high wear areas)
Apply with synthetic brush, roller or airless/conventional spray
Touch dry: 1 hour | Recoat/topcoat: 4 hours
Ensure no condensation during drying

Spray Setup:

Thin 5–10% with water
Graco 1500/3500 or equivalent
30 mesh filter in machine, none in gun
Tip size: 521, 523, 621, 62
