Teamac Metaclor Underwater Primer is a modified chlorinated rubber-based primer designed for excellent adhesion and protection on steel, wood and GRP (glass-reinforced plastic).
Containing zinc phosphate for added corrosion resistance, this primer performs exceptionally as both an underwater primer on properly prepared steel and as a sealing coat compatible with most conventional coating systems.
Recommended for use below the waterline or as part of a full marine protection system when overcoated with Teamac Chlorinated Rubber Topcoat.

Designed for use in demanding marine and industrial environments where long-term protection is essential.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, and contaminants.
Bare Steel: Abrasive blast to SA 2½ where possible. If blasting isn’t practical, use mechanical cleaning; hand preparation is not sufficient. Degrease with solvent prior to de-rusting.
Existing Coatings: Clean, degrease and lightly abrade to provide a key. Remove all loose or flaking paint and treat exposed metal as new steel.
Wood & GRP: Lightly abrade, remove dust and ensure the surface is fully dry.
Maintenance Work: Remove marine growth, oil and grease; high-pressure wash with fresh water; feather back edges and spot prime any bare areas before applying a full coat
Directions for Use
Mix thoroughly before application.
Apply by brush, roller or airless spray.
If spraying, use a 0.017"–0.021" tip at approx. 1900 psi (130 bar).
Thin if required with up to 5 % Teamac Thinners 16.
Apply at approx. 100 microns WFT to achieve 38 microns DFT.
Allow to dry at least 8 hours before overcoating.
Overcoat with Teamac Chlorinated Rubber or other compatible systems.
Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Avoid high humidity or low temperatures.

We use Parcelforce and FedEx as our main carriers, though this may vary based on location or size of your order.

International Delivery
We are pleased to offer worldwide delivery on both parcel and pallet orders.
Parcel Shipments
All international parcel deliveries are handled by FedEx International. Shipping times and costs vary depending on destination, parcel size, and service availability.
Pallet Shipments (Including Dangerous Goods)
For palletised orders — including those containing dangerous goods - we work with independent specialist freight companies experienced in compliant global hazardous materials transport.
Due to the nature of these shipments, pricing and transit times are provided on a case‑by‑case basis.
Requesting an International Delivery Quote
If you would like to place an international order, simply get in touch and we will prepare a personalised shipping quote. Please provide the following details:
- Your full name
- Delivery address (including country and any required customs information)
- Details of the items you would like to order
- Quantities for each item
Once we have this information, we’ll handle the rest - from calculating the most suitable shipping method to arranging safe and compliant delivery to your destination.
🛠️ Specialist Products & Pallet Deliveries
Some coatings are made to order, particularly from premium brands like Sigma/PPG. These orders:
