Watco Bitu-Mend Deep Fill is an epoxy pothole repair mortar for deep damage in asphalt, tarmac and concrete. It fills from 15mm to 200mm in one application, making it useful where a hole needs substantial rebuilding without repeatedly applying shallow repair layers.
The system combines graded granite aggregate, epoxy resin and a separate curing agent. Once mixed, it forms a loose-textured repair compound that is worked into the hole and compacted to remove air pockets. The cured repair has a hard, black, granular finish that blends with asphalt surfaces and provides slip resistance.
Use it for deeper holes in busy car parks, loading bays and other traffic areas, indoors or outdoors. The depth capability makes this grade a useful choice when the base of a pothole sits well below the surrounding surface. Measure the full void before ordering: the same pack covers a smaller area as the repair gets deeper.
This is a resin-based repair system, so allow time for it to cure before reopening the area. Plan access around the stated traffic times and the actual temperature on site. For thinner repairs in areas used by forklifts and lorries, compare Bitu-Mend Advanced. On smooth substrates, pair Deep Fill with Watco Tack Coat to provide the specified bond.
Surface Preparation
Remove loose material, oil and contamination from the void. The substrate must be sound and preferably dry; slight damp is acceptable. A primer is not normally needed for rough holes, but apply Tack Coat to smooth substrates.

Directions for Use
Mix the curing agent into the resin thoroughly using a wide-bladed tool. Immediately combine the mixed liquids with the granite aggregate, coating every particle. Place the compound into the void, work it into gaps and lightly tamp with wood to remove air pockets. Finish with a trowel, wiping it with white spirit to reduce drag.
Limitations
Keep the repair within the stated thickness range. Allow the required curing time before traffic returns; lower temperatures extend it. Store above 10°C and protect from frost. Remove food products from the work area during application and cure. Read the technical and safety sheets before use.
Product FAQs
What depth can I repair?
Apply between 15mm and 200mm in one application. This grade is intended for deep holes rather than thin surface repairs.
How much material should I order?
A 25kg pack has an approximate volume of 15 litres and covers about 0.5m² at 30mm. Deeper holes use more material.
When can vehicles use the repair?
Allow 12–24 hours for heavy traffic at 10–20°C. Foot traffic is possible after 8–12 hours. Lower temperatures extend curing.
Is primer required?
Not normally for rough holes and cracks. Use Watco Tack Coat over smooth substrates, following its instructions.
